Hosting

How quickly can my site be up? Once your order is processed by our system you will automatically receive an email with all of your ftp (File Transfer Protocol) and control panel information. You will then be able to begin setting up your email accounts and ftp your site up to our server via your static IP# assigned to your domain. (Usually within 15 minutes)

How can I be online in 15 minutes? Registering your domain can take from 24 up to 72hrs, depending on the registrant's service. Even though your domain can take a minimum of 24hrs to become active you can be online in 15 minutes by using your IP# that will be assigned to your domain. So instead of looking at your site via the domain: mydomain.com you can view it in the meantime by going to 1x.3x.5x.7x (the ip# will be included in your Welcome Email) Note: your email will not work until your domain becomes active.

What about security? I plan to have an e-commerce site. If you want to use web pages that are capable of passing information to and from your users in a secure fashion, then you need a secure certificate or ssl. We provide what is called a "server wide" certificate that enables your domain to be used securely or if you prefer you may generate, order and install your own certificate all from your control panel!

What is your hosting guarantee? We offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If for any reason you are not satisfied with our services you can contact us before your first 30 days are up for a refund.

What type of payments do you accept? We Accept MC, VISA, AMEX, DISCOVER.

How am I billed? Your credit card on file will be billed every month automatically. Any upgrades or additions will be added to your monthly bill.

I am a Texas resident, will I be charged sales tax? Yes, the state of Texas requires we charge sales tax for hosting services. When ordering please make sure you pick the package with the -TX extension.

Can I add more emails or hosting space to my account? Yes, by using your control panel you can not only manage your site but you can also add additional email accounts and/or space and other services.

Will I be able to upgrade to a higher end hosting package? Yes, you can upgrade to a higher end hosting package at any time. You will receive credit for the remaining days on the current package and will be charged a prorated rate for the remaining days on the new package plus "upgrade fee" if it applies.

Miva

Can I use my existing merchant account? Yes, you can use your excepting merchant account by having Miva do a simple credit card number validation at the time of purchase. Once you get the order in, you can run the sale through your own credit card processing equipment or software.

What if I don't have a merchant account? If you need help in establishing a new merchant account we can help you with that too. Please visit our Merchant Account Services page. Or we can setup Miva to work with PayPal.

Can I use Miva Merchant with PayPal? Yes, we can add a module to Miva for you to use with PayPal. This way your credit card transactions will be processed via PayPal.

I need help in "customizing" Miva Merchant, what can I do? If you are familiar with html and graphics and you would like to do it yourself you can download Miva Merchant's manual and give it a try.

If you would rather us do it we can customize any Miva site with your own colors and graphics. Once your Miva site has been customized you will be able to "manage" your site through the web-based control panel. This puts you in charge of your own e-commerce store.

Does Miva install on my computer? NO. Miva is a web-based software that runs on our servers. All you need is an Internet connection and your username & password. You can run and modify Miva from any machine anywhere in the world!

Domain Registration

What does it cost to register a domain? You can register a domain through HomePageOnline.com for $20 dollars per year. Your domain will be registered just like any other domain but without paying the $35 dollar a year fee that InterNic charges. You can register a domain at the same time your order hosting. What if I already have a domain registered? Our order form allows you to "transfer" your domain automatically to our servers when you place your hosting order if your domain is registered and managed by InterNic. If you registered your domain via some other company you will have to follow that companies procedure, usually you will have a user/pasword combination where you can logg on and make the following changes:

Primary Name Server: ns.homepageonline.net
Primary Name Server IP: 208.56.139.235

Secondary Name Server: ns2.homepageonline.net
Secondary Name Server IP: 208.56.138.221

How long will it take to be online with my new domain? If ordered through HomePageOnline your domain will take from 24hrs to 48hrs to be registered and online.

Can I register a domain at the same time I order hosting? Absolutely, our system allows you to register your domain name at the same time you place your hosting order. This allows you to save time by filling two different forms for the same domain.

Can I have more than one domain in my account? NO. Each account uses a real IP address, therefore each account must be separate. You can however order additional hosting packages and/or domains through your control panel.
Note: Once you have a domain hosted with us you can order hosting with your domain using an "extension": myothersite.mysite.com and you will not have to pay for a second domain registration.
